Third Grade Build Numbers & Patterns

Build Numbers:
Greatest number
To build the greatest number of any given digits, the digits should be written in Descending order.
Ex: Write the greatest number by using the digits 3, 9, 6, 1
The descending order of these digits is 9, 6, 3, 1
So, 9631 is the greatest number.

Smallest number
To build the smallest number of any given digits, the digits should be written in Ascending order.
Ex: Write the smallest number by using the digits 3, 9, 6, 1
The Ascending order of these digits is 1, 3, 6, 9
So, 1369 is the smallest number.

Digits including Zeroes
Zero at the beginning of a number has no value, while building the smallest number watch for zeroes.
Ex: Write the smallest number by using the digits 3, 0, 5, 2
The Ascending order of these digits is 0, 2, 3, 5

So, if we make 0235 then the number becomes 3-digit number. Since we have to build 4-digit number, zero should not be at the beginning of the number. Finally, 2035 becomes the smallest number.

Number Patterns:
Number patterns will be formed by adding some number repeatedly to the last number. Some examples of Number patterns given below.

Ex1: 2342, 2344, 2346, 2348, 2350. Increasing by 2 pattern.

Ex2: 3456, 3461, 3466, 3471, 3476. Increasing by 5 pattern.

Ex3: 4445, 4455, 4465, 4475, 4485. Increasing by 10 pattern.

Ex4: 2340, 2440, 2540, 2640, 2740. Increasing by 100 pattern.
